When i plug a ethernet cable in to the onboard lan port my computer freezes up. Also if i turn it off and plug it in then try to boot up the system wont start. The drivers are fine and it shows the divice is working properly when there is no cord plugged in. Anyone have any idea what is going on? Should i just return the motherboard or is there a reason for this issue.

Have you tried another cable? Have you tried another PC using that cable (if possible)? Sounds kinda odd, reminds me of a few rare times where the cable itself was actually transferring a little bit of current and it would really shock the person when using their keyboard

Yeah we are using the cable on the old computer and it is working just fine, and we have tried other cables as well.

Perhaps try a PCI nic if you have one floating around, but yeah I would sense something is whacky with the motherboard.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
