I have a problem with video files and also copying and pasting from the clipbook. Running XP Pro on an Athlon 1200. Using a Maxi Gamer Cougar 3D card driven by NVidea 28.32 detonators. Any attempt to open an mpeg or an avi brings on the BSOD. Sometimes, opening an office file with an embedded graphic brings the same result. Recently installed Office XP Pro but this has introduced the exciting new variation of not allowing copy and paste of image files - haven't tried all of the formats yet, I'm getting fed up rebooting.

Any help anybody?

I have the same problem with games. I get a blue screen in windows XP with nv4_disp error and im force to restart. Im running 29.42 on gf2 mx-400. But i get the error with any version of drivers.

I believe this is the infinite loop problem. And you have to run drivers that have fixed that problem.

I've seen this problem with GF2MX cards. Infinate loop in graphics driver resulting in a BSOD. I solved it by turning off AGP Fast Writes in BIOS.

The Guru has done it!

Thanks a lot Zedric - never thought about doing that! It seems to work so far. I'll keep the thread going if it dies again.

Yay! 😀
It took me a month of hard work to find the problem. Damn I was annoyed with that computer!
