I am putting xp on a compaq computer previously running 98.
I deleted the all the partitions and formated the harddrive with NTFS during the xp setup. An error screen came up after it finished saying I needed to restart. when i restarted it says I'm missing my "NTCLR". Does any one know what I should do?

Good luck on that, it looks like kind of a pain... but it looks like the solution.
