ok..when i go do live update with norton antivirus 2002 it always does that damn "confirming subscription status" everytime. it use to only do it once and now it does it all the time. ive reinstalled it like 20 times.. whats goin on?

Not sure why it does that, but why don't you set it to auto-check and it won't bother you.

I had to wait a couple of days, and then it worked.

Initially I did what you did, and tried it 20 times. 🙂
