Networking 98se and XP.

Here's one that has more than likely been asked a million times, so I apolagize now if it has. Is it normal for my XP machine (1.4g) to be slower at accessing files from my 98se machine (533mhz) ? The 98se machine is quick at accessing the XP machine's files. Seems to me it should be the other way around or I have something not done right. I used XP to do the network install along with making the disk for 98se.

i had the same issue with win98 , i upgraded to XP on the same machine and the network speed is like lightning now.

Im sure its something to do with 98 but have no idea what 😛

Would it make a difference if one machine is NTFS and the other Fat 32 ?
