My hardrive runs slower than it should??

I have 2 40 gig hardrives both using ata 133 cabling. Both are ata 100 and ones 7200rpm other is 5400, but on all the benchmarks they only run about 20 to 28 megs a second. I have Windows xp installed with latest Intel application drivers. System is 1.4ghz p4 with 512 rdram. Any clues?

I had the same problem on a Gigabyte board I was using earlier this year - a flash update to the BIOS fixed the problem.

Don't know if this is your problem, but maybe it's an area to explore...
