Modem help needed

I have a Tornado PCI V.90/K56Flex Contr ive installed the latest drivers for XP and everything is fine in device manager, I open a dial up connection and it gets the dialing tone but then never dials and XP throws back an error saying there was no dial tone????

any 1 any idea what is wrong, I'm an engineer my self and I have never seen this before.

please help else ill be bald by the end of the week 😀

did the modem ever work in XP? to me it seems like a hardware problem, but thats just an off the wall guess, you might try moving the PCI slot that the modem is in and fully re-installing the drivers once you have done that.
