Hey guys,
I have been seeming to have a lot of problems with my rules lately and trying to make sure that I get them into the right order and everything. I recently decided that I was going to remove my rules and make sure that I can re-establish them correctly. Unfortunately that hasn't worked fully quite right yet. I know I'm having a big problem when I receive read receipts, I have it explicitly specified under message tracking that I want my read receipts to go into a particular folder... but then it seems to go into my Inbox regardless.
I also have a lot of problems with copies being made of emails and going into two different folders, even though my rules typically state to move emails to another directory. Just to note, I have a couple of rules that specify if email is received through a particular account (I check my exchange + a few POP3 accounts on this outlook) to move it to a particular folder. In the whole grand scheme of things, where should I place those rules at?
Are there any applications which will allow you to test a rule from start to finish, tell you what gets moved / applied and what rule is making the change? Is there any general listing of the order of which I should have rules? What about the "Stop processing more rules" option, does that only apply to that email? Or does that affect other rules as well?
Thanks!
