there's something up with getting mpegs to work, i can't watch card captor sakura anime episode number 49, the sound won't show

i think it's b/c someone sent me this codec that didn't pass the test, but i did it anyway

i was thinking of uninstalling media player 8, how do i do that?
and how do i get it back again?

hmm,, i wouldn't try to uninstal it,, i'd go look for some updated codec's,, and if u are current, then maybe its the video file that is corrupt, try dling a new player and try again.

You can't uninstall it, it's actually part of the protected files. If you break your media player, the only way i've found to fix it is to do a repair install of XP.

yeah, i noticed that you can't remove it from the conrol panel

Boot up with the XP install CD, go through the installation process at first, until it detects another OS (XP), then choose to repair.

Its not full-proof that it will work, but it usually does, and will save your files, although you may have to reinstall a few apps.
