Maxtor vs Segate vs IBM

Lets just remember that IBM doesn't make their drives any longer. Hitachi does. I run an IBM and a WD. It's all a matter of times for each. Each has had their bad periods. I haven't been systems on a large scale for about 2 years, but when I did I had the most problems with WD, Seagate had a few, Maxtor was descent and IBM had the fewest RMAs. I don't know how it is now, but if I had to go with one I would go Maxtor or WD definately. We are talking IDE of course. SCSI is a different subject all together.

RazerBack mentioned SATA........drewl....
150mb transfers to start and within 4 yrs much much more to come.....jumpers be gone with thee!
even the "molex" connectors have recessed contacts to prevent surging ( power is eased in ) not that that is a big issue since the power should be off eh? It's just the little things.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
