Local Network problem

i have just installed windows xp on my desktop but i have trouble accessing my local uni network. i am staying in college therefor i have a workgroup called chisholm. the chisholm workgroup is connected to the domain called studyhall. i have already put my documents and settings on shared on my local pc but each time i tried to login into my domain it keeps saying that it can't find my profile and will log me into a locally stored temporary profile. can anyone help me?

Are you running Windows XP Pro or Home? If you are running Home it can't log onto domains. You need Pro for full domain connectivity.

nopes am running professional xp at the moment and its not my profiles, its already setup properly, i was using it fine when i was using millenium os.
