Here's a use for an old computer:
Packard Bell, model unknown:
Cyrix 300 CPU
Unknown mobo
128 MB SIMM; (Upgraded from original 32MB)
Onboard SiS5597 Video (shares 4MB system ram)
Onboard sound (disabled currently, can't get to work)
4x(?) CD-ROM
10GB HD (not originally with system)
Linksys 10/100 NIC (not original)
90W PSU (no typo, yes, that's ninety watts)
*drum roll*
Running Mandrake Linux 9.0!
while it's not the fastest, it's more than adequate as a "internet/game" station for the mother-in-law. (By games I mean solitaire, tetris, breakout, etc)
Start install to surfing the net in under 2 hours. Nice!
