iTunes Music Sharing

iTunes allows one to listen to any of the music shared by others on a network. Is this possible over Internet ?

It was possible, but the latest update (mac) "fixed" the hack which let you share. Not sure about the Windows version.

Nope, sharing works only on your own subnet.
As SPeedY said, internet sharing was possible with the original Mac version, but it was fixed for obvious "legal" reasons.

isn't this possible again w/ that new "myTunes" app or is that just to get around copy protection in subnet?

Yes, but that doesn't allow over-the-public-internet sharing.
It just lets you download shared music from the subnet rather than just allowing you to listen to it.

thought I saw something somewhere about sharing over net but I guess that must have been pre-patch ...

The only two iTunes hacks that I know of are myTunes which lets you download shared files on your local subnet, and the Jon Johansen's hack that lets you disable DRM/licensing of AAC files from the music store.
Never heard of any internet sharing patches, at least for the Windows version.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
