Ip Address Change

Just a warning for anyone with a dynamic ip address. I have been running a server for about 4 months on my computer using road running. Tonight I switched the input cable to my modem but it didn't work so I switched back. Now for the first time my ip changed. Sucks for me 🙁
So beware when changing stuff with your internet connection.

The best thing to do is use

http://www.dyndns.org (free)

or http://www.dynip.com (pay)


you register and get a url like http://drx.dyndns.org

if you IP changes you just update it at their site , so you give all your friends http://drx.dyndns.org and if your IP changes it doesnt matter


works for FTP , webservers etc
