Installing Boot/Login Screens

i have a question about installing boot/login screens. apart from replacing the files ntoskrnl and logonui, do i have to extract the images to the system32 folder as well?

I don't make my own screens but I use 'logon loader' & the hundreds of screens available to use with it. Very easy to change screens at any time.
