Installation of a game problem!!!!!

Plz help me with this problem. My friend has installed Arnold Palmers Links 2001 on his computer and doesn't need the cd in the drive to run it. But when I install it, the game asks me for the cd. What is the problem??

Are you sure he didn't apply any sort of crack or patch to make it not require the cd?
