Incoming mail message

Hi folks, My wife uses windows mail and i use MS outlook. Is there a way to set these up for different incoming mail alerts. I.E different .WAV files.

Haven't used either in awhile, but I am sure if you go into the general settings, there should be a section for sound. And then just pick your sound file.

As far as i can gather you set up the sound files through sounds in control panel which only gives you one option.

Change the New Mail Sound in Outlook, Windows Mail and Outlook Express

To use a custom sound when new mail comes in with Outlook and Outlook Express:

• Select Control Panel from the Start menu.
• Make sure you are in Classic View.
• Double-click Sounds and Audio Devices.
• Go to the Sounds tab.
• Highlight New Mail Notification in the Program Events list.
• Select a sound from the Sounds list, or use the Browse button to find a sound not in the list.
• Click OK.

brocher, you can't. There is only one mail notificaiton sound in windows.

BUT you can set up 2 different login used id's and each user gets to pick their own mail notifiation.

I was thinking that but haven't messed about with it for ages, was just wondering if things had changed over the years.
