IE8 will not open favs

I have a list of favs that has been imported from IE8 Vista. the favs menu opens and i can select a link but nothing happens. tried to use the new tab option still no go. any ideas? i havent tried importing the favs again and will follow up with that.

edit:
restoring the favs fixed the problem. issue fixed.
