I keep seeing a reference to a cd-rw "patch"

from M$ in various articles. I have gone to the tech. article and to M$ update and I cannot find it. Has anyone else seen this patch?

i believe you are referring to the ASPI patch. heres the file you need if so.

Yes, there's an update for CD burners at Windows Update. Go back and on the left side of the page, under "see also," go into the windows update catalog. It's in the 'recommended updates' section. If Windows Update isn't picking it up on a scan of your system, it may have been bundled in another update 😕 .

if you use roxio cd creator 5 platinum, there is also a patch at their website to prevent rebooting when you want to shutdown, if your machine is doing that.
