how do i rip just the audio only away from a video? either mpg or m2v format videos?

You'd have to have a special program to do it. Gamecopyworld.com has some tools in their DVD/CD and tools sections that might do it. but I don't think there is a way that you can natively do it in XP.

You can do that with tmpgenc (http://www.tmpgenc.net/e_main.html )

Download it and install it;
After installing go to File/Mpeg Tools/Demultiplex
