How to disable the Startup sound?

The only account I have is for Administrator.

I've gone into sound options and disabled the startup sound, but it still keeps a comming... 🙂

What am I missing?

Are you sure you mean the windows startup sound or the startup sound when you log on from the log in screen, as they both have sounds (i think default the same )...

but yes you should be able to disable it from sound settings in the control panel??

I guess I've used Win98 for way too long because I didn't even thing about Log On/Off sounds.
