How to : DirectX9 and 3Dmark

Spotted this tip on the net :

DirectX9

For those of you that have installed DirectX9 and Can't get some certain appz to work (Ive only found 3dmark2k1 so far that doesn't work, (because it checks that DX8.1 or lower is installed)

Alter this in Registry to Change the name of DX ..

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/DirectX/

Alter the "Version" to read "4.08.01.0810"

Now all Apps and games alike that wouldn't run will

This is for WinXP and Maybe Win2k also..

It is, but it's only a beta version. Don't use it, unless you know what you are doing. Wait for the official DirectX 9.
