I always just used the program ( Bootxp ) works good plus you can change pics that you have into boot screens. as-well as it adds a backup line in-case you happen to crash your system while messing around with them.Because it can be a dangerous thing to do .I have Xp and thats what I do dont know for any other o.s
if you have the file to replace original one (from assorted sites they can be found) then rename old one and drop new one(in windows file)........ but in xp it has to be done in safe mode or it will change it back on reboot as its a critical system file and wont let you change it otherwise
