Hi,

I just flashed my BIOS, and my system lost my soundcard. It's an old pc, with a ISA-slot soundcard...

Tried hardware detection, and resetting the plug and play in bios, but nothing helps..

any ideas?

Try putting it in another slot if you have one available. Read the flash revision notes... does the slot now share resourses with another slot that's filled?

I have just one isa slot avail.

If it would share resources, I would see it in device manager right?

Well I don't, it has disappeared, can't find it, can't detect it, and when installing manually (forcing install) getting error 'device cannot start'

DAMN!

I thought that my soundcard was dead, so I inserted an ISA network adapter from yet another pc. Can't detect that as well. It seems like the ISA slot is 'turned off'

Did you go into the BIOS and see if there is an option to turn on/off the ISA bus?

Hmm...

Flash your BIOS back to the older Version 😀...
or have you updated it, because something runned wrong ?

In those type of architectures, resourses can sometimes be shared, or allocated to an adjacent PCI slot, if you have a card in an adjacent slot, pull that card and see what you see (if your ISA slot comes back, put the PCI card in a different slot). Also, read the bios revision notes and the motherboard manual to see what's up with that ISA slot.
