Not too good at going thru hijackthis logs.. anyone wanna take a stab at it? Have an issue with the homepage getting hijacked after the first time IE loads. first time IE starts at the proper page, then after going to a couple websites it gets sent to some random "Search FOr..." website with 1 popup telling me there is spyware on the box.

here's the log

You need to run CWShredder, the newest version should be able to fix this up. http://209.133.47.12/~merijn/files/CWShredder.exe
Let that fix everything it finds.

have HJT fix the following:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = file://C:\DOCUME~1\Ian\LOCALS~1\Temp\sp.html

Now reboot and post a new log.

hi fellas, a friend of mine had the about:blank highjacker. there were sp.html references in their highjackthis log plus references to an ena.dll. had to boot to safe mode w/command prompt, deleted the ena.dll and sp.html and now they are good to go. i see on yours Ded a different dll, the pdfe.dll. i'm thinking there are other highjackers that use a dll, (diff. names but with same purpose), and create the sp.html.

am i off track in this thinking?

oh, i almost forgot, the reason for booting like i did to delete those files, highjackthis unfortunately didn't get ird of them itself, hence me booting that way.

cwshredder

had the same problem with sp.html highjacker. just wanted to say thanks much for the idea of cwshredder it worked wonders. I had been playing around for two days untill i found this. thanks again guys

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
