i've got a new abit kx7 333r board and plugged everything in, no problems.
I've used the hard drive from my old pc which has xp pro on it. when i boot up it gets a little way and a blue screen pops up informing me that I should run chkdsk/f on the disk because of a possible virus or corruption to the disk.
I've run in safe mode with command prompt and it gets as far a the aliagp.sys file (the previous motherboards agp control file, i assume) before the blue screen.
I've tried renaming the file aliagp.sys - still the same result. my old pc is fried (nice amount of smoke as it went) so no chance of getting into that.
Any suggestions as to how I can rescue my hard disk and get my xp pro back?
