HDMI Out To TV

I have an ATI Radeon HD 5850 video card, and I want to connect it to my HDTV with HDMI. Will it play sound?

Actually not to my TV but to a receiver....Can't find any information if it will work or not...

it should with an hdmi tv. but you are at the mercy of an external receiver so one test is worth a thousand expert opinions.. see link for making sure hdmi sound is turned on on windows/ati, also get into tumer setup to make sure hdmi sound is on..

I have the 5750, and it works.

The only problem is if I change the receiver to watch something from my cable box. When I change back to PC, the HDMI doesn't connect right so I get picture with no sound. Easily solved by turning the receiver off/on.

Little annoying because when I first hooked it up it worked 100% for about 2 months, until I updated my ATI drivers, and its been slightly messed up ever since (and yes I tried reinstalling the old driver).
