Hard Drive

Hey all i notice that my pentium II is faster than my pentium III 866 mhz. I think its because of the hard drive. Will a 40 gig 7200 rpm improve my performance to my pentium III. I think my pentium III came with a poor hard drive. Plz post any ideas.

Have a look in Device Manager, under the primary ide channel and see if it is running in dma mode.

Also just so we know what HD did your p3 come with so you could easily compare performance.
