Oh, one more thing I thought I would add to the PAT part. If you are hosting an FTP server but can't change the port on it from 21 (why, I don't know, but it's just an example), and port 21 is blocked from your ISP, PAT will help you out. Someone can connect to port 5550 if you like with his/her client, and the PAT config can redirect the traffic for you to your FTP server. This way, you can host the traffic that you wanted to to begin with while working around the limitations of your FTP serving app and your ISP.
