Graphics application...

I'd like to know of a good graphics creation program. I'd like to make images similar in quality to the PNGs found with the YZdock program or icons you can find around the web.

I've used Photoshop and PaintShop Pro, but those seem to be graphics editing programs. Do I need some type of clipart plugin or something? Or do I need a seperate type of application?

I did a search in Google using " PSP7 and .png" and had information galore... Seems PSP 7.04 is the version to have for this..

I've used PSP7 (demo version) and it does have a few tools to create really simple images, but not really what I'm looking for. Oh, well, I'll keep looking around.

Or you could try and get a fairly recent copy of Deneba Canvas (either 6.0 or 7.0)

Both would be ideal for your requirements (I think!!)

With Photoshop..to create quality images like those Dock PNGS you are talking about..you need to start with a base image..something simple like a circle or square, and then using layers add depth to the image, like giving it a metallic look using all the filters, then making bolts and nuts, etc... That is how people create images in Photoshop. Search on google for Photoshop tutorials, you will find a lot of information.

Yeah, that's what I've been doing, but sometimes it would be nice to have some other options. For example, I like using the Preset Shapes tool in PSP, but I think there should be more shapes included without finding more online.

I guess I'm just lazy. I like fast results that look good
