Flat Panel Monitor Problem

I have a SyncMaster 770 TFT Flat Panel Monitor. I am experiencing shadows across the screen anytime there is a picture or any kind of dark print. I am not sure whether this is an adjustment problem or a problem with the hardware. Anyone have any experiences with this or have a solution? 🙄
