Finding Old Outlook Exp emails

Just upgraded to XP, and it also update Outlook Exp. to 6.0.
However it took the emails etc that were currently saved within the older version, and moved/stored then somewhere.
I forget where a article said they were moved/stored at. Where/Is there a way to access these previous emails?:confused:

TIA

This is where outlook express 6 in xp stores it messages by default in files with the extension .dbx:

C:\Documents and Settings\*username*\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\*some long string*\Microsoft\Outlook Express

where *username* is your windows username and *some long string* is something like {F27C30AB-4D61-4F72-8040-764ECDE1ECD6}

you have to have my computer set to show hidden files and folders to browse to this path.

if i can remember correctly, in 98/me OE stored its messages in something like C:\windows\application data\identities\*some long string*\microsoft\outlook express. Since you did an upgrade, this folder and its contents should still be around. If this is the case, you can copy the files from this directory to the new one and overwrite what is there. This will however erase any messages that you have recieved since your upgrade. I am not sure how to append one of these to another, but a way arround it is to forward these messages to yourself and not check your mail until you have replaced the new files with the old ones.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
