DUAL LAYER problems in DVD-ROM

Some movies I am not allowed to play, and they are Dual Layer Disc. I was wondering if anyone has had trouble with these? And any solutions? I am using a COMPAQ SD-608 (OEM Samsung)

What do you mean by not allowed to play? what type of error comes up, or what problem occurs?

I insert the DVD, and the DVD-ROM spins up, and doesn't do anything. I load PowerDVD to see if it worx, and it tells me there is no disc in the drive. When I put in other DVD's, it pops up with the standard "What do you want to do?" dialogue.

Go to your DVD's manufacturer site and see if it supports the dual-layer. Also check for a firmware update for it and see if it addresses the issue in that update.
