Hi,
Is it possible to move the whole 'Documents and Setting' - folder to an other location, like 'D:\Documents and Settings\' 😕

Yes it's possible but you can better do it not manually, else windows will screw up.

If you use the prog tweak-xp you can easily change and move the folder to anything you want.

That is false information, unless you'd like to prove me wrong?

You can change folders such as "My Documents" and "My Music" using programs such as Tweak UI and Tweak-XP.

However, to my knowledge, you cannot change the path of "\Documents and Settings\" due to the fact that it is a Windows system directory.

Like I said, I could be wrong.

madmatt - I think that you repeated whatsboulema said!

Perhaps the "better do it not" messed you up - I don't know - but I would guess they are from somewhere that they put the nouns and verbs into sentences differently and they are trying hard to speak this confusing English language.

I think it's possible with tweak-xp. It is able to change system folders too.

I never done it so I'm not 100% sure, but i think it's possible

sboulema, none of those options (in Tweak-XP) allow you to move the "\Documents and Settings\" folder. Those settings allow you to change such directories as where your desktop icons are stored, and where folders such as "My Documents" are stored.

damnyank, no, I clearly read that he stated it was possible to do using Tweak-XP. He stated:

"If you use the prog tweak-xp you can easily change and move the folder to anything you want."

I know it's not possible using Tweak-XP and I don't think it's possible at all.

I made a mistake before - slammin Cousmin (spelling?) - he's from Romania I think because I could not understand what he was trying to say in English.

So - now I always try to be careful and try to read a little more into it if I come across something with the verbs/nouns switched. I know I suffered thru three years of German in high sschool with the verbs and nouns switched!

It can be done from an unattended install and it can be done from some major Registry editing. I have done it the Registry way only once, and I will not try it again.

the only thing is, that I can't install XPpro anymore, while the CD hasn't any scratch or something. When copying the setup files, is it inpossible to copy about 30% of the files 🙁 🙁 🙁
