well I dual booted Vista and XP for a while and I've lost all use of dell media direct. It seems as though you have to reinstall windows just to fix it. I'm baffled.

I just want to get it working. Anyone else out there having problems with it?

I'm using version 3 which doesn't seem to have a repair utility.

Any help would be appreciated.

got done speaking with a dell customer tech agent through chat and the only way to get it fixed is to wipe my hard drive and start from scratch.

My system is working perfectly besides that stupid software.

oh well.

Glad I didn't pay extra for it.

What does it do?

it lets you play media when the computer is shut off. It's almost a proprietary OS that needs to be installed in a special way or else it won't work. I love it becuase I'm always wanting to watch movies or the like without having to turn the system on. BUT I can't use it anymore because my harddrive is not partitioned exactly how dell likes it and my perfectly working os would need to be reinstalled just to get the functionality back.

It's useful but not enough to completely start from scratch with my system.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
