dad's computer fried?

he get's this error;

unmountable boot error

will a boot disc get me back on?

this seems coincidental with the new router I hooked up or the new mouse, but it worked fine for a few days since those two installs

I can't get going at all to uninstall or do anything, the computer won't even go into safe mode

anyone know what's going on?

I'm gonna try to boot from a cd and then do a chkdsk, hopefully that will work
