Customize notifications in XP

How do you clear the listing of available programs that can be hidden in the notification area? I've uninstalled programs, yet I still have the ability to hide the icon in the notification area.

What do you mean by the notification area? Down by the system Clock?

Yeah, the old System tray

Right clicking on it gives you the option to hide infrequently used icons when inactive. I want to delete specific icons in the list of available programs. Any ideas?

I think you can only do what that link yoyo provided says. Doing that will remove all icons then as programs are used you can change the setting for them as they appear. It is easy enough to do. 🙂
