I have a really annoying problem. My computer restarts very often, and when i look in he event logger, i find this message every time:

AMLI: ACPI BIOS is attempting to read from an illegal IO port address (0xcfc), which lies in the 0xcf8 - 0xcff protected address range. This could lead to system instability. Please contact your system vendor for technical assistance.

Does annyone know what's wrong??

it just happened now when i wrote this post! arrrghhh...

no, my BIOS is the newest available.

it must be some kind of software. It hasn't been a problem earlier, and this installation of XP conttains a lot of programs and stuff....

You might consider rolling your bios back one or two revisions and see if that helps. That article was pretty specific that it is a ACPI bios issue.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
