I'm on Windows XP and I have started getting this error frequently. I am thinking I just need to restore a few files in the system32 folder but I am unsure as to which ones.

I understand that my OS is 32bit, but is there any way to use the 16bit application anyway?

Anyone with XP think they can help? And if you have a valid, working version of the files I need would ya care to share?

Thanks guys,

error message

I am getting exactly the same error message while trying to run programs that used to work. It is even now refusing to open CDs. Someone help please as this is getting beyond a joke now.
