Concat - Geom

when making one of these should you make a partition on the disc(s) and format them or have them completely blank?

i have used

dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/ad6 bs=1k count=1
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/ad8 bs=1k count=1
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/ad10 bs=1k count=1


to completely wipe them so they have nothing on them, so is it a case of me just doing

gconcat label -v 1tb /dev/ad6 /dev/ad8 /dev/ad10
newfs /dev/concat/1tb
mount /dev/concat/1tb /store

????

yar, and you will probably want to add -U to that newfs.

ok so they should be blank before i concat them (which is what im guessing the yar was in reference too 😛), which they are (or were) and what's the U flag for (edit: found out its soft updates)

so in furture i shall have to remember newfs -U /dev/concat/1tb

edit2: little tunefs -n enable /dev/concat/1tb - should fix it 😛
