can anybody give me advice?

everytime I open my disk cleanup on the system tools it never finishes reading the disk it just stays there and i'm trying to clean it up because all of a sudden my computer is just functioning very slow and when I try to defrag the c drive it wont even analyze the c drive? any suggestions?😕

1) Schedule chkdsk to run on next boot. Reboot and wait.
2) Try Diskeeper 7 (free demo download from : http://www.executivesoftware.com/downloads/menu.asp
