Yo,
Looking for a simple-to-use software DVD player, with plenty of options, settings, extras and stuff.
Or, what you think is the best player? Thanks.

RaG

The best available software DVD player is either PowerDVD or WinDVD...

I have always found power dvd to be the smoother of the two.

I used to swear by PowerDVD, until I saw some of the features of WinDVD...

Play a movie on the background of your desktop, Screen Captures and the likes made WinDVD my favorite.

Kind regards,
Willem Moolenaar

I think for ease of use, and best controls would be Power DVD.

Never used PowerDVD, but WinDVD is a worthy contender in my experience.

Interesting, I currently use PowerDVD myself (since it came with my DVD-ROM) and it also seems pretty popular here too. However, I'm willing to try out both WinDVD and VideoLAN, just to see how they are. :D
Thanks guys!

WinDVD - only because it does spdif output that works.

PowerDVD 5 also handles the SPDIF very well (from my experience)

I havent used PowerDVD too much, so Im not bashing it, but imo WinDVD is quite grand, not a big killer of resources, plus alot of grüvi little features

Depends how you define 'best'. For the best value for money, Fusionsoft DVD is freeware.

I generally used powerdvd till I got my all in wonder :)

now I exclusively use ati's dvd player since it works flawlessly with the remote...

:D

/me says hooray for laziness

Speaking of ati's player, there's nvDVD too. Not sure of pricing though, or if there's a trial available.. but it's another option for the list :D

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
