??? You mean its more expensive because its a viewsonic instead of a Dell??
Who is the manufacturer of the LCD matrix? I would guess whoever that is would sell them the cheapest... I cant wait for the end of 2005 LCDs will have hit rock bottom before its over if LCD production predictions are correct

uhm no its not
thats a tv... please read :D

um DVI input and 12ms response time qualifies it as a monitor with a tv tuner. and plasma sux compares to this tv.
Actually, anything larger than 50" plasma sux too unless you have a living room the size of Texas.

and anyway their 8ft plasma beats tht hands down

only a goofball would be dumb enough to use a plasma as a monitor. As a matter of fact ALL plasma recommends not using it as a monitor for 2 main reasons:
1. slow response time
2. screen burn in

I believe its is either LG-Philips or Samsung. But Viewsonic track Dell's product line very closely - and with good reason :) Not everyone wants a dell badge sitting on their desk

So if you seee a nice high end viewsonic and want to save yourself a couple hundred check dell - You'll find an identical screen (same LCD panel) for less with just as good build quality.

The only thing I dont like is Dell uses grey to grey as their markings for response times, which in actuality is what we as users normally use, but when playing HL2 it could make a considerable difference, when shifting from a black to white...
All the monitor makers need to come to an agreement and help make this a standard.... ots getting annoying now... I mena come on already..
However.... I will have to pick up one of the 24" wide aspect monitors before the year is out to replace my 19" but it has to come down under $900 before I do it.
as GW senior said: "wouldnt be prudent, at this Juncture...."

I can only comment on the 2001FP from Dell and state that HL2 will not be a problem. the 2001FP is a very capable screen I do not see ghosting on it. If you throw the mouse around you ar more likely to see tearing than ghosting but you would on a crt as well.

High-End LCD's are really giving CRT performance now and I can only see them getting better.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
