I have forgotten but does anyone knows what is the difference between basic and dynamic under disk management in Win2K please?

Would love to know the advantages and disadvantages of both format though .. : )

Dynamic:

A physical disk that is managed by Disk Management. Dynamic disks can contain only dynamic volumes (that is, volumes created with Disk Management). Dynamic disks cannot contain partitions or logical drives, nor can they be accessed by MS-DOS. See also dynamic volume; partition.
Basic:

A physical disk that contains primary partitions, extended partitions, or logical drives. Basic disks may also contain spanned, mirrored, striped, and RAID-5 volumes created using Windows NT 4.0 or earlier. Basic disks can be accessed by MS-DOS. See also basic volume; extended partition; logical drive; mirrored volume; MS-DOS; primary partition; RAID-5 volume; spanned volume; striped volume.
