audigy problem??

I have amd athlon xp 1800+, abit kr7a-133 raid mobo, geforce 4 ti 4400, 512 mb of ram, sb audigy, and i have a small problem while playing mp3's. Right in the middle of some of them, the sound will act like it skips, almost like a cd would skip. IT will like skip 3 seconds or the song, or go back three seconds or something like that. If anyone could help me, i would appreicate it.

I have a Soundbalster audigy too, and have had a problem somewhat like that, all I did was uninstall the drivers, then reinstall with the latest update, other then that it has been perfect. If it is your CD, clean it or rip it to your computer, maybe the CD is just dirty

i get the exact same thing, and it's while playing mp3's, not cd's. thought it was the directsound in winamp but i switched to wav output and it popped instead of skipping. it'll only do it once per song, too.

been kinda lazy/hesitant to start taking off and trying new drivers. gonna reformat soon anyway.
