AMD vs Intel

In the age old debate ... which is better .. AMD processors or Intel? I hear AMD is better for gaming ... Intel is better for applications such as running photoshop and whatnot. Is there any truth behind this?

I hate to say this but there is really no need for another thread on this topic, you can just do a search and read the tons of other threads on it. nothing has had a significant enough change to warrant more debate over a opinion question 😛
