Align ("valign") Image Middle?

I have been working on my web site and I ran into an annoying problem and no matter what I try I can't get it to look right.

At the end of my blog listing on my main page I have text for "View Blog" and "RSS 2.0". Before the "RSS 2.0" text I have a RSS image and after it I have the "Add to Live" image.

I want to align (valign) the images in the middle so it's lined up nicely. However, no matter what I do the images align top.

<a href="http://blog.usmsol.com/index.php">View Blog</a> |
<a href="http://blog.usmsol.com/rss/rss.php" style="border-bottom: 0px;"><img src="images/rss.gif" width="14" height="14" border="no"></a> <a href="http://blog.usmsol.com/rss/rss.php">RSS 2.0</a> |
<a href="http://www.live.com/?add=http://blog.usmsol.com/rss/rss.php" target="_new" style="border-bottom: 0px;"><img src="images/addtolive.gif" width="76" height="14" border="no"></a>
I've tried VALIGN=MIDDLE, VSPACE=-1, etc. and nothing wants to work.

You can view it at the bottom of this page.

I'm sure it's something simple but I can't figure it out. Any help is appreciated.

That did the trick. Thank you.

Side note answered: I have styles.css, but I hard code style="" in until I have things perfect, then I move it to my styles.css (makes it easier on me).
