2k3 shutdown w/ update - Help!

Hey guys needed to restart my server due to exchange issue, i hit shut down with update, but its hanging on the update!

its been installing update 1 or 2 for about 30 mins. any suggestions ?

If that fails I think you will just have to take the plunge

Never, ever shutdown and install updates, especially a server. It is bad practice.

Hmm, how does it differ from a restart or at least how else would you install the updates?

install the updates.. then shutdown. Don't shutdown and install the updates during the shutdown.. for reasons such as these, when there are problems, there is no way to recover gracefully.
