Is there a special user name i need to chat on the channel?
I downloaded java, and then tried to connect using a predefined server that is on Osnn and it woudn't connect to any of the four.
Not sure if this has any effect but i am using FireFox

The Java client is most likely bork due to the fact that squeaknet is bork.

Can we get the Java and irc.osnn.net to point at 195.242.213.40 ?

Why not use a IRC client like mIRC or HydraIRC?

Because mIRC and (especially) Hydra suck more than a turbo-powered-vacuum cleaner?

Some people don't want IRC clients installed on their computers (or work/schools computers for that matter ) as they don't use IRC enough to warrant it.

However, for the time being, using a client is actually the only way to join the channel

If it stops people posting giblets all over the boards, then they're more than welcome in the IRC channel (There's always +m).

And Hydra is an awful lump of arse. You need Windows taking away from you so you can learn to use some real IRC clients.

Put it this way.

mIRC / Hydra = IE6.
irssi = Firefox + Extensions.

Some people just prefer IE6, though more technically minded people tend to go for Fx... it's just a preference.
