I used to be 3-4 a night then every coupla weeks I would crash for 12-14.


Now it's more like 6 average.

I can't sleep and when I do it's bad. so I voted 4-7 but how much of that is good sleep?

Well you only need 4 hrs of sleep as the bare minimum to function (according to the U.S. Army) and after pretty much had only that for my entire military career I can say it is true, although not as happily as a nice 8 hrs.

mmm...sleep. I pulled a few all nighters over the summer. They are fun when hanging wit friends. One time we watched so many movies that when we were done it was 6am so we went out and rode my go kart and of course we ran out of gas and man pushing a go kart for 1 mile with the way we were was fookin horrible.

Why does it matter how long you sleep? The quality of sleep is much more important. I know ppl that need 10 hours of sleep and are crancky all day. When I was 20 years younger I got by on 3 hours through the week and 4 in the weekend, these days 5 hours is enough to sustain and I do live a healthy lifestyle (meaning I work out etc.).

I used to work nights for ten years. i prefer it. i've always had bad insomnia, and when i switched to working days, i was &$#@ed. couldn't sleep, couldn't focus. it's been almost 3 years, and i still haven't been able to switch off at night.
